Featured MINDS@UW-River Falls Item of the Week

This week’s featured MINDS@UW-River Falls item is the 1962 Meletean.  The Meletean is the yearbook of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.  It was first published in 1912 and it was last published in 1969. It resumed publication briefly from 1991 to 1992.  Meletean is Latin for Badger, which is the Wisconsin school mascot.  The class of 1962 is celebrating its Golden Jubilee Reunion this year with events on May 11th and 12th.

Featured MINDS@UW-River Falls Item of the Week

Featured MINDS@UW-River Falls Item of the Week

This week’s featured MINDS@UW-River Falls item is the 2011 CRSCA Booklet.  This year marks the 10th anniversary of CRSCA, an annual event honoring the academic and creative output of UWRF faculty and staff.  The celebration includes exhibits throughout Chalmer Davee Library from Monday, March 26 to Friday, April 13, and a reception in the library atrium on Tuesday, March 27, from 3:30-5 p.m.  Clarke Garry, Biology Department emeritus, and artist Gaylord Schanilec will be guest speakers, giving a presentation in the library’s upper level breezeway at 4 pm.  Garry and Schanilec authored and illustrated “Mayflies of the Driftless Region.”  UWRF student and classical guitarist, Elliot Novak, will be performing during the reception.  Members of the campus community as well as the general public are encouraged to attend.  Please join us for music, refreshments, and exhibits as we celebrate the work of the faculty and staff of UWRF and don’t forget to stop by the MINDS table in the library on Tuesday, March 27,  to find out more about the project.  Click here (http://digital.library.wisc.edu/1793/60817) to view the 2011 CRSCA Booklet in MINDS@UW-River Falls.  To see other items in the MINDS@UW-River Falls repository, visit http://minds.wisconsin.edu/handle/1793/209

Featured MINDS@UW-River Falls Item of the Week

This week’s featured MINDS@UW-River Falls item is Drifting Cuyuna tourmaline by UWRF Geology Professor Bill Cordua.  Dr. Cordua’s article appeared in the Leaverite News newsletter of the St. Croix Rockhounds in Stillwater, MN in 1999 and is one of the many articles found in the William S.
