CRSCA Deadline this Friday, March 1st

Friday, March 1st, is the last day to get exhibit materials (books, articles, posters, artwork, etc.) to the library for the Celebrating Research, Scholarship and Creative Achievement (CRSCA) reception which is being held Tuesday, March 12th.  CRSCA is an annual event honoring the academic and creative output of UW-River Falls faculty and staff.  For more information please visit http://www.uwrf.edu/CRSCA/ or contact Cate Dodson @ cate.dodson@uwrf.edu.

CRSCA Deadline: Friday, February 15th

Friday, February 15th is the deadline for faculty and staff to turn in citation information for inclusion in the Celebrating Research, Scholarship and Creative Achievement (CRSCA) booklet.  Materials for CRSCA exhibits must be delivered to the library by Friday, March 1st to be included in the CRSCA exhibits.  Visit the CRSCA webpage for complete guidelines and more information: http://www.uwrf.edu/CRSCA/

Mark your calendars and join us in the library for the all-campus CRSCA reception, including refreshments, exhibits and live music, Tuesday, March 12th from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm.  UWRF music students Ben Lunn, Justin Wolff and Dylan Nelson will be performing as a jazz trio for the reception.

This week’s featured MINDS@UW-River Falls item is Why do some mineral change color when you turn them?  by retired UWRF Geology Professor Bill Cordua.  Dr. Cordua’s article appeared in the Leaverite News newsletter of the St. Croix Rockhounds in Stillwater, MN in 2009 and is one of the many articles found in the William S. Featured MINDS@UW-River Falls Item of the Week

This week’s featured MINDS@UW-River Falls item is the 1962 Meletean.  The Meletean is the yearbook of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.  It was first published in 1912 and it was last published in 1969. It resumed publication briefly from 1991 to 1992.  Meletean is Latin for Badger, which is the Wisconsin school mascot.  The class of 1962 is celebrating its Golden Jubilee Reunion this year with events on May 11th and 12th.

Featured MINDS@UW-River Falls Item of the Week
