Library Book Club Changing Focus

The Davee Library’s Lion’s Paw Book Club began in January 1998 as a collaborative effort serving members of the UWRF and greater community who enjoy reflective reading and discussing contemporary issues. The library is changing the focus of this reading group to align our efforts with the campus-wide “Year of” strategic initiative. Beginning this fall, the International Programs Committee will choose one country per academic year as a focal point for a variety of campus events. The new book discussion series will feature books related to the chosen country and 2013-2014 kicks off with the Year of Germany.  Selections can be fiction or non-fiction, classic or contemporary, and can focus on Germany or be written by a German author. Anyone interested in leading a book discussion should email The library will select six titles representing a variety of genres, time periods, disciplines etc., and will schedule the discussions monthly in September, October, November, February, March and April next academic year.
