There will be a Beginning German Genealogy workshop from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday March 8 in the University Archives & Area Research Center (Room 170, lower level). It is free and open to public; no prior genealogy experience is necessary. Bring your German village names of origin, if known, and your German family names. Presenter Darcy Boock may use one of them as an example when showing how to navigate a few websites. If you don’t know your village names, that’s one thing you will learn how to look for. So bring a friend and come Learn German Genealogy!
The UWRF Archives is open the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a free Introduction to the Archives class at 9:15 for those who have never used the Archives or want to learn about what’s new.
